Ainslie Wear based in Vancouver BC is taking the dancing world by store with their innovative and exceptional designs of dance wear.

Finding the right leotard is hard. Having a tight and uncomfortable spandex uniform while kicking your leg up and turning numerous times is not a fun experience. Always pulling leotards down and over bottoms and pulling them up and over chests becomes tiresome to many dancers, on a professional and educational level. It is hard to find a leotard and practice dance wear that is not only durable and practical but one that is also flattering to the dancer body is a task that is difficult to achieve.

Ainslie Cyopik is a former dancer of the National Ballet of Canada and Ballet British Columbia. She studied at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada in Belleville Ontario and has come to travel the world through her time as a prima ballerina. Knowing the difficulties that dancers face in finding good dance apparel and also experiencing those prolonged hours at rehearsal in an uncomfortable, sweaty and sticky leotard, Ainslie had begun her career in fashion design while still a dancer at the National Ballet of Canada. She made leotards, leggings, shorts, for herself and her company mates and in 1997 took her dance apparel line into full speed when she created Ainslie Wear.

Ainslie Wear is now the official bodysuit of Canada’s National Ballet School and has come to have a reputation for the most flattering designs for dancers. Her expertise of the field and dance industry has given Ainslie a foot ahead other designers who are unaware of what dancers truly need in apparel. The distribution of Ainslie Wear spans throughout Canada, the United States of America and Japan and reaches all genre and styles of dance. Many of ballet practice wear can be used for jazz, modern, contemporary and ballroom styles while in the classroom and rehearsal. The leotards made by Ainslie are made just right to meet the standards of apparel for long rehearsal days and are made of a supplex material, which remains true to their original color and dries quickly to avoid any sweat stains or rehearsing in a wet leotard for the remainder of a long rehearsal.

Through her immense dance knowledge and background, Ainslie Cyopik has created a line of expertly-fitted leotards available in black, navy, teal, eggplant and periwinkle. Her latest design “Liz” is both stylish and practical, bringing something new to the classroom!
